The governing board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) convened today for their April board meeting at the Sen. Okowa Towers, DESOPADEC headquarters.

In a significant development, the board unanimously approved the immediate reinstatement of fourteen staff members.

Speaking to reporters at the conclusion of the board meeting, Chief Festus Ochonogor, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of DESOPADEC, shed light on the decision.

“These fourteen staff members had faced unresolved issues during the tenure of the previous board, which was subsequently dissolved. The current board, however, is committed to addressing the challenges and concerns faced by these employees.

Chief Ochonogor also revealed that the board is embarking on a comprehensive projects inspection tour. This initiative aims to assess the status of ongoing projects and identify those that are ready for commissioning. The move underscores DESOPADEC’s dedication to efficient project management and community development.

The reinstatement of these staff members and the proactive approach to project oversight signal a new chapter for DESOPADEC, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and employee welfare.
