Suspend Strike, Commisioner, others tell  UTQEN

The Delta state Attorney General Ekemejero Ohwovoriole , SAN, and the State Commissioner of Transport Hon. Onoriode Agofure as well as the Board of Internal Revenue DBIR have called on the striking Union of Tippers and Quarry Employers of Nigeria UTQEM to suspend its ongoing strike as the State Government would look into the issues it presented against the National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW.

In a six point resolutions the state government called on UTQEM to stop any collections in the next two weeks as well as the NURTW to put on hold collection of all levies from UTQEM with the sales of stickers restricted to jurisdictions.

Also  National Union of Local Government Employees NULGE has been directed to stop the sales of tickets to UTQEM for the next two weeks, while All consultants are to halt operation for the next two weeks,to allow the state Government look into all the issues raised.

Reacting, The  Union of Tipper and Quarry Employers of Nigeria UTQEN has declared a no going back to it’s ongoing Strike until it’s demands are met.

The Union led by the National Chairman Comr. Wilson Ogbachi on Wednesday in Benin City Edo state, decried perceived insincerity to do the needful on the part of the Delta state government even in the face of continued physical humiliation and damages done to it’s personnel and trucks across the State.

Meanwhile, resident  contractors and Masons have decried ongoing Strike which is crippling construction activities , with many calling on the State Government to resolve the impasse as soon as possible.
