On the completion of the ICT-YEP youth Empowerment programme, the Delta Government had presented starter packs to 593 trained youth on Monday.

Speaking at the close of the first phase of ICT-YEP at Government House, Asaba, while addressing the Delta North graduands, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa through the state commissioner for  Youth Development, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity by providing employment for themselves and others.

“I congratulate you for successfully going through the programme. ICT has become the forefront at which the world revolves.

“It has open vast opportunities for better and more reliable ways for people to interact, do business and seek help in various ways, including developing ideas on how set goals can be achieved.”

He said youths across the globe are deploying ICT to prepare and access economic opportunities, career counseling, job matching etc.

The governor therefore advised the beneficiaries to maximise the positive aspect of the Internet and warned against using it criminal purposes or outright mischievous act, as the law is always there to deal with those who abuse ICT.
