Delta State: Commercial tricyclist and motorcyclist to register with government

In a bid to curb the persistent issues of insecurity prevalent in major towns across the State, the Consultant Delta State Directorate of Transportation, Dr. Julius Babogha has said that there will be registration and data capturing for commercial tricycle riders and Okada riders within the state.

Dr.Julious Babogha gave this stated this while addressing newsmen in Effurun noting that the registration and data capturing will involve their photographs that will enable the office have the data of all tricycle and Okada riders across the State.

Speaking further, Babogha reiterated that the exercise is not about government generating revenue but utilizing the information to curb crimes associated with robberies and kidnappings in the State.

    How much is this registration, or is it free of charge and is it to be renewed at what frequency .

    I hope this will not be an avenue for extortion of riders. If Vigilantee especially in Otokutu can now join police to forcefully collect N100 from bike and Keke riders with impunity, vio may become a worse case …
