‎Lagos-based National Youth Service Corps member Ushie Uguamaye, aka Raye, who went viral on Saturday after posting a video on TikTok kickstarting her 30-day challenge to speak on issues affecting Nigeria, has come out to apologize.

‎Raye’s video started trending on the first day of her challenge as she criticized the economic hardship in the country and the very high inflation affecting everyone.

‎The NYSC corps member accused President Bola Tinubu of being a terrible leader, asking him how the struggles faced by citizens are just looked down upon and not addressed. She further called Lagos a “smelling state,” with some people agreeing while others faulted her.

‎As a visitor in Lagos State, Raye apologized on Instagram to Lagos residents for her choice of words, stating that it was not meant to downgrade those who call the state home.

‎She urged Nigerians to continue demanding better living conditions rather than getting distracted by fleeting controversies.

‎Earlier on Monday night, appearing on Arise TV, human rights activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, said Uguamaye was under pressure to apologize to the presidency.
