Cholera Outbreak: Delta State records 138 cases

Delta State has recorded a total of 138 cases of Cholera with seven deaths since the ravaging cholera disease broke across the country in February this year, as majority of the cases were young children.
The state Commissioner for Health, Joseph Onojaeme, who disclosed this during a press conference held in Asaba the state capital, said the  State Government has been able to curtail the disease in the state.
Onojaeme flanked by the Commissioner for Information, Ifeanyi Osuoza, and the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Festus Ahon, explained how the state government was managing the outbreak of the disease, noting that cholera was a disease of national outbreak and so far three outbreaks had occurred in the country this year where the seven deaths that were recorded, was during the first epidemic.
He therefore advised the public to maintain a clean environment and practice simple hygiene like washing the hands regularly to avoid being a victim of the outbreak.
