The king of the united kingdom, Charles III, will on November 7th make his first speech at the UK State opening of parliament.

According to the House of Commons Leader Penny Mordaunt on Thursday told MPs that the king will outline the priorities bestowed on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for the year ahead.

This move by the monarch may likely lead to a general election.

Mordaunt in his words, “I can confirm that the state opening of parliament will take place on 7 November 2023.”

In 2022 Charles stood in for his late Queen mother Elizabeth II at the opening of parliament but this will be the first time he will deliver the set-piece speech since he was crowned.
