I never made any declarations to contest for the position of presidency but only reaffirmed my commitment to the Labour Party, and it was read out of context.

These were the words of the former vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Datti Baba-Ahmed, following reports that he wants to contest for the 2027 presidency.

Speaking on Channels TV on Friday, Datti said his words were misinterpreted by social media users, and platforms with authentication are only here to disregard such claims.

He acknowledged that political possibilities may exist in the future, but no such announcement has been made.
