Air travel under threat die to fuel scarcity- NAAPE

An appeal was made on Thursday by the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE), an umbrella body for pilots and engineers in the country, to Federal Government to intervene in the rising price of aviation fuel.

The body said the price of a litre of aviation fuel at N700 was possible of crippling Nigeria Aviation industry.

Speaking in Lagos to journalist, the president of NAAPE, Engr. Abednego Galadima, said the situation has made air travel difficult for Nigerians.

The NAAPE boss urged Federal government to urgently address the issues in order to restore normalcy in the aviation industry.

Airline operators had cancel tens of flights this week over scarcity of aviation fuel called Jet A1.While oil marketers are blaming the development on the high cost of foreign exchange.
