The remaining student of the Bethel Baptist Secondary School, Kaduna, Treasure Ayuba has been released.

Ayuba finally regained his freedom after two years when bandits invaded their school in Damishi, Kaduna State and kidnapped 120 students from the school in July 2021.

Other students were released in batches following payments of huge ransoms but Ayuba still rained in captivity.

No specific amount was paid for the release of the boy whom many have forgotten after several attempts to secure his release failed.

The return of Ayuba was confirmed by the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Kaduna State, Reverend Joseph Hayab.

According to him, the boy, Treasure Ayuba, is now undergoing medical examination at a private medical facility in the state.

The Nigeria Baptist Convention through its president,  Rev Israel Akanji, had earlier on Thursday night confirmed the boy’s release in a statement.

He said, “Glory be to God! Glory be to God!! Glory be to God!!! Treasure Ayuba, the last boy who was still with the bandits who kidnapped the 121 students of Bethel Baptist High School, Kaduna, on July 5, 2021, has just returned home today, November 2, 2023.

Thanks be to our unfailing God. Thank you also very much for your prayers and numerous support.”
