Mother Bury Two-Day-Old Baby in Ughelli

Residents in Ekuigbo community in Ughelli are still shocked as to why a mother would bury her two-day-old baby alive, with many calling for measures to prevent such incidents from happening again.

Community sources disclosed that concerns started rising when the infant was not seen with the mother, but she claimed to have handed the baby to a friend.

Doubts began unraveling her explanations when a resident claimed to have seen her carry the baby at night to an uncompleted building.

With much interrogation from the community, the young woman led residents to the uncompleted building where the baby was buried. The police command has yet to make a statement concerning the incident, but she is currently detained for further investigation.
