Man Arrested Over Viral Video Terror in Abuja

The Nigeria Police have confirmed the arrest of Pam Joseph, a man linked to the creation and spreading of false information that Abuja is under terrorist attack.

According to a statement by the police on Friday, the video footage was compiled from unrelated sources just to create fear, panic, and drive a false narrative about the FCT.

The force stressed that while citizens have the right to freedom of expression, such rights do not cover the deliberate spread of misinformation capable of disrupting national security and public peace.

Joseph will be charged in court as the police emphasized monitoring the social media space, and actions will be taken against those who spread false information.
