Backlashes had trailed a video of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for disrespecting the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, during the coronation anniversary of the Ooni of Ife.
In the video, Governor Adeleke was singing a worship song at the coronation event where the First Lady was also installed as the Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo IIe Oodua. As she walked towards him, she interrupted his singing to deliver his speech within five minutes.
She said, “Enough with the music, or I’ll switch off the microphone.” Before instructing him that he had five minutes to conclude his message.
However, following various reactions, the First Lady has taken to her Facebook page, sharing a picture of herself standing with Gov. Adeleke and addressing the public on the controversy.
“Those entrusted with leadership understand their duties and how to steer the affairs of society. More often, it is the followers and critics who scrutinize every step, amplify minor missteps, and turn them into needless controversy.”
