We Are Cooperating With EFCC – Dangote Group

Following the visit of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to Dangote’s group headquarters on January 4, 2024, the company has expressed readiness to assist the anti-graft agency in its investigations.

The Group said it was cooperating with the commission which is investigating the possible misuse of foreign exchange from the central bank.

A statement from Dangote said on December 6th, 2023 EFCC sent a letter to the conglomerate.

The letter requested details of all foreign exchange from the Central Bank of Nigeria allocated to the group from 2014 till date.

The company says a first batch of documents have been sent to EFCC but the agency’s officers insisted on visiting the group’s headquarters.

Dangote said at the moment no accusations of wrongdoing had been made against any company within the group.

Recall that the former governor of the CBN Godwin Emefiele who was appointed in 2014 was removed from office in June last year and is currently at Kuje Correctional Center.
