The Boko Haram terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the abduction of hundreds of school students in Kankara,Katsina state according to the report of AFP .

Abubakar Shekau a factional leader of the terrorist group was said to have claimed responsibility for the abduction in a voice message on Tuesday.

“I am Abubakar Shekau and our brothers are behind the kidnapping in Katsina,”

“What happened in Katsina was done to promote Islam and discourage un-Islamic practices as Western education is not the type of education permitted by Allah and his Holy Prophet,”

“They are also not teaching what Allah and his Holy Prophet commanded. They are rather destroying Islam. It may be subtle, but Allah, the Lord of the skies and earth, knows whatever is hidden. May Allah promote Islam. May we die as Muslims. In a nutshell, we are behind what happened in Katsina,”he said

Over 300 students are still missing after gunmen on motorcycles stormed the Government Science School in Kankara late on Friday.

However, Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State on Monday evening said 17 out of the missing students of Government Secondary School, have been found and reunited with their families.
