‎Embattled Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, has confirmed his resignation from his position over the controversial academic certificate crisis leveled against him by the Premium Times newspaper.

‎The resignation letter was sent and confirmed by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu.
‎
‎Nnaji says he has deeply reflected on the issue and consulted with his family, associates, and well-meaning Nigerians; it has become imperative for him to step down.
‎
‎However, the PREMIUM TIMES had alleged that the embattled Minister claimed that N100 million was given to the paper to blackmail him, which the newspaper bluntly refuted, citing the fake documents already in circulation.
