Two Suspects Arrested In Lagos Over Fake Production Of Drinks

Two suspects, Imo Lawrence, 35 and Magnus Nwonka, 42, have been apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command in the state for the production of fake drinks.

The information was released by Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos police spokesperson, in a statement on X, that the suspects led them to the room where the drinks were being produced.

Hundeyin’s statement reads, “Officers of Ojo Division today arrested the duo of Imo Lawrence ‘m’ aged 35 and Magnus Nwonka ‘m’ aged 42 in possession of fake drinks.

“In the course of the investigation, the suspects led detectives to their inconspicuous, multi-room ‘factory.’ The investigation is ongoing.”

A video shared showed the production room where crates of drinks, plastic containers, and bags of sachet water were inside a dirty room flooded with water.

Just Last week the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control officials shut down a market in Aba, Abia state for selling and producing adulterated drinks and beverages.
