Truck Brake Failure Kills Six at Udu Bridge

It was a sad day at the ever-busy Udu Bridge on Monday following an accident that involved a truck running into a trailer being worked on by a mechanic, killing six persons on the spot.

The mechanic was working under the broken trailer carrying electric poles when the Julius Berger truck experienced a brake failure. The truck was trying to dodge a commercial keke that was not aware of the brake failure when it collided with the trailer.

The impact of the collision affected the mechanic and three other kekes carrying passengers. The total number of deceased persons is yet to be confirmed, but six bodies have been taken to the mortuary.
