Tension Rises In Abia After Death Of Policemen by Gunmen

An early morning attack by gunmen in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State has left residents tense.

Details of the incident are still sketchy, but witnesses in the Ebem and Asaga areas have fled out of fear as the gunmen stormed in and killed several policemen at around 7:30 am.

This follows an attack on a House of Representatives member, Ginger Onwusibe, when he was ambushed in Umuahia on Sunday, leaving one officer dead and another injured.

The state police command has yet to comment on the incident.
