The teenager was arrested on August 11 by the state Anti-Kidnapping Tactical Squad, while his accomplice, Sunday Michael, a security guard at 9th Mile Corner and a native of Adamawa State, was arrested on August 12 after demanding ransom.

According to the Command spokesperson, Daniel Ndukwe, little Obodoagu went missing on July 26, before the prime suspect, Obodoagu, used his accomplice to demand a ransom of N1 million.

When the ransom was not paid, Obodoagu confessed to killing the toddler and buried him in a bush close to their residence.

During the interrogation, the prime suspect led the police to the scene where the dead body was exhumed. Both will soon be charged in court, even as the CP commemorates with the bereaved family.
