Teacher Beat Primary 2 Pupil To Coma In Anambra State

A 30-year-old teacher has been handed over to the police command in Awka the Anambra State capital for beating an 8-year-old pupil into a coma.

Landmark School Mgbakwu in Awka North LGA where Faith Nwonye taught is said to be an illegal organization not registered with the state government according to Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh.

The incident happened during the weekend at the school premises when Faith beat the primary 2 pupils to a state of coma.

Prof Chuma-Udeh speaking on the incident said the proprietress and teacher were invited to explain reasons for such actions while notifying them that the school had been permanently shut down.

She added that the chances of the little girl’s survival are 20 per cent according to the doctors, thereafter advising parents to register their wards in government-approved schools as operating illegal schools is a criminal act in the state.

The case is currently under investigation and after conclusion, the teacher would face the full wrath of the law.
