Submit Your Preaching Outline to the Government Before Preaching — Gov Bago

Post created on 4:38 pm

Christians and Muslim faithful are having mixed feelings concerning the new policy order of preaching placed in Niger State by the State Governor, Umar Bago.

The Governor, in a program on TV on Sunday, said all preachers in the State should submit their sermons for approval before preaching in order to checkmate hateful speech that could cause unrest in the state.

He argued that such practices are also done in Saudi Arabia, noting that he has not banned evangelism; rather, all security agencies in the state will work with the government to see the realization of this process.

Earlier, the Director-General of the State Religious Affairs, Umar Farooq, announced that anyone who wants to preach in Niger State must first obtain a license within two months and would need to fill out a form and appear before a panel before being cleared to preach.
