Imran J Umar, a Nigerian student stuck in Sudan has narrated how his colleagues fleeing from the war outbreak in Sudan have to use their Passports as collateral for their bus to get going over alleged non-payment by the Federal Government.

Umar, made the revelation while responding to a tweet by Madam Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman, of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM.

Madam Abike, responding to a video of Nigerian Students whose buses stopped in the middle of the desert over non-payment to the drivers, said she has reached out to the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, stressing that the bus has continued the journey and every issue has been sorted out.

“I have just spoken to @nemanigeria dg. He confirmed the buses have continued their Journey and said whatever issues have been resolved.”

In a swift response, Imran J Umar @Imranjameel2002, quoting Madam Abike’s tweet, called her a liar for taking credit. He, however, revealed that the students have to give their Passports to the drivers as collateral pending when the payment will be made.
