Kendrick Lamar, an award-winning US rapper, has announced details of his long-awaited fifth studio album titled ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’, to the delight of his fans.

The 34-year-old disclosed in a tweet that contains a press release via Oklama, his website, that the project would be released on May 13.

“The following statement was released today by Oklama, through his company pgLang at 11:00 a.m. PT in Los Angeles, CA: Album: ‘Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers’. Release date: 5/13/2022. All factual information for this release will come directly from this source only.”

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers is the follow-up to the artiste’s 2017 album, Damn, which won him a Pulitzer Prize for Music and Best Rap Album at the 2018 Grammys.

The new album will be Lamar’s last for Top Dawg Entertainment, the label run by Anthony Tiffith that has released all of his albums so far.

In an open letter, Lamar said “I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years, “May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators.”

Lamar’s new music will likely be released in association with pgLang, the new creative venture he’s launched with Dave Free.

Since its launch in 2020, pgLang has worked on a Calvin Klein campaign and released Baby Keem’s album The Melodic Blue. “Family Ties,” the Baby Keem song featuring Lamar, won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance at this year’s ceremony.
