President Tinubu Sends New Ambassadorial List to Senate

President Bola Tinubu has nominated the immediate past sole administrator of Rivers State and former Chief of Naval Staff, Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, and others for a non-career ambassadorial position.

The list of nominees includes the former presidential aide, Ita Enang; former Imo State First Lady, Chioma Ohakim; and former Minister of Interior and former Chief of Army Staff, Abdulrahman Dambazau, which has been forwarded to the Senate.

Tinubu’s letter to the Senate urging them to give consideration to the nominees has faced criticism, even as the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has referred the list to the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs to screen and report back within a week.
