The Delta State Police Command has debunked claims of protesters being shot at during what was tagged as a peaceful demonstration against insecurity in Abraka.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, while speaking with our Correspondent, Oma Rogers, termed the claims circulating the social media space as misleading as he insisted that the protest had already been high jacked.

Edafe insisted that the talks of the supposed kidnapping happening in Abraka was simply over exaggerated but promised to always be on the lookout for those involved in the crime.

Meanwhile, 2days after protesters had protested and had an interphase with security personnel, Officers of the Delta State Police Command have paraded the bodies of four suspected kidnappers who were killed during a gun duel in Abraka.

The Police PRO, who confirmed this while speaking with newsmen said the police was able to record such success through the joint efforts of hunters, vigilante and anti cult volunteers following credible intelligence on the activities of suspected kidnappers along the Abraka Rail way axis where one AK-47 rifle, along with thirteen rounds of live ammunition were recovered.

Edafe encouraged Deltans and residents to always provide credible information to the force and report any division that chooses to extort money from them for providing such credible information using the proper channel in the head quarter.
