‎Reaction has trailed the sudden death of Dr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle, a senior lecturer at Kogi State University, Anyigba, after his body was found in a hotel room.

‎The news of the lecturer’s death was made known by a 200-level student from the Faculty of Education, studying Social Studies, who had allegedly checked in with him at a local hotel.

‎The 200-level student from the Ebira ethnic group alleged that she does not know how the married lecturer died, as they had just finished having a nice time and were preparing for a second round when he collapsed.

‎According to witnesses, Dr. Ibikunle had consumed a large quantity of energy drinks in preparation for his intimate time with the student, which has led the police not to rule out poisoning.

‎However, law enforcement sources say foul play has not been ruled out, and toxicology tests are expected to determine whether poisoning or other factors contributed to his death.

The investigation is ongoing by the police, even with the student in custody, but no official statement has been released by the university management or police authorities.
