Oviri-Olomu Women Embark on Sex Strike Over Herdsmen Killings

Post created on 11:40 am

‎Community members in Oviri-Olomu have sent an SOS call to the Governor of Delta State, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and the State Police Command to speedily enforce the anti-open grazing law in order to ensure the safety of residents in various communities from herdsmen attacks.

‎The cry for help was made by demonstrating women who have declared a sex strike against their husbands over the persistent attacks by these killer herdsmen.

‎Chanting songs of sorrow and resistance, the protesting women, who took to the streets on Tuesday and Wednesday, vowed to withhold cooking, trading, and sexual relations with their husbands until the government and security agencies take decisive action to end the violence flooding their community.

‎With various placards on display, the women described how the continuous rape, destruction of farmlands, and general insecurity in their community have turned them into captives in their once peaceful village.

‎The women of Oviri Olomu hope their voices will finally be heard not just in Asaba, but across the nation as they embark on this solidarity quest for freedom.
