Different reports have emerged concerning the Odua Peoples Congress (OPC) leader, Bayo Fabiyi, who was abducted on Monday while delivering ransom to bandits.

Fabiyi was earlier reported to have moved with N30 million demanded by the bandits, along with other items like five motorcycles and three bags of rice, when he and two others were abducted at Oke-Irese in Irepodun LGA of Kwara State.

The news, which attracted criticism, has been discredited by the state police commissioner, Ojo Adekimi, and the Coordinator of the Kwara South Joint Security Network, Comrade Zubair Olaitan. The state CP stated that it was only N2 million that the OPC leader carried and not N30 million as reported. Additionally, there was no demand for motorcycles and bags of rice, as quoted by one of the abducted OPC leader’s children.
