‎The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, Bayo Ojulari, has publicly alleged that his life and those of his management team are under serious threat as a result of reforms introduced into the system.

‎This threat to life was revealed on Thursday during a meeting held in Abuja at the company’s headquarters when the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), led by its president, Comrade Festus Osifo, visited.

‎Ojulari, whose tenure began in April 2025, said the only offense he committed was to implement reforms in line with President Bola Tinubu’s mandate to revive the country’s moribund refineries, but some powerful persons who were benefiting from the industry are plotting to remove him from office.

‎With several questions raised during the meeting, Ojulari pledged his commitment to restoring the nation’s refineries to full capacity despite the threats.
