MTN Losses Former CEO To Cancer

Telecommunication giant in Nigeria and other parts of Africa have been thrown into mourning over the death of the Former Group CEO of MTN, Sifiso Dabengwa, who died of cancer in the early hours of today, Monday.

The death of Dabengwa, a Zimbabwean, was confirmed by his family spokesperson, Themba Sibanyoni, says MTN South African media outlets.

Dabengwa was MTN CEO from March 2011 till 2015 until his resignation when Nigeria fined MTN 1.04 trillion naira for failing to disconnect over five million unregistered SIM cards.

A source from MTN headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa, said the sad news of Dabengwa, who was once an MTN Nigeria CEO in 2006, was received with heavy hearts as all staff are still mourning.
