Mother Kills Newborn After Delivery in Benue

A young woman has been held by members of the Gboko community in Gboko Local Government Area, Benue State, for allegedly killing her newborn.

According to sources, the woman gave birth to a baby boy in the early hours of Sunday behind the Government Secondary School but killed the baby immediately after delivery.

The community was thrown into a state of mourning due to the incident, as residents called for police intervention so that justice could be served.

The Benue State Command has yet to issue an official statement.
