With the incident that occurred at the All Progressive Congress Delta Central meeting, where allegations were made that Reuben Izeze, Commissioner of Works for Highways and Urban Roads, assaulted a member, which later led to his suspension, Governor Sherrif Oborevwori has reiterated his commitment to discipline, irrespective of government position.
Governor Sherrif made these remarks on Tuesday during the courtesy visit of the newly appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, Major General Everest Okoro, at Government House, Asaba.
He said that government officials are not above the law; following the allegation involving the commissioner, an investigation was launched, resulting in the arrest and prosecution of the official.
“One thing I don’t tolerate in Delta State is indiscipline. Whether you are a government employee or part of the system, if you commit an offense, you must face the consequences,” Governor Oborevwori said.
