Minimum Wage Act is for All Employers of Labour says NLC

Following the approval of the new minimum wage by the Delta State Government, the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, has called on all private sector to follow suit.
The State NLC Chairman, Goodluck Ofobruku, in an interview with Crown FM, said the minimum wage act is meant for all employers of Labour and not just for the public sector.
Ofobruku noted that a team has been constituted to go round private firms to checkmate and ensure that implementation is carried out therefore encouraging workers whose employers refuses to adhere to the new minimum wage act, to report discreetly to the Congress.
The Chairman also commended state government for the prompt approval of the new minimum wage, adding that workers won’t mind a little delay in this months salary owing to the increase as approved by state government.
