The palace of the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado-Bayero has been marked for demolition following approval from the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Haruna Dederi.

The approval was granted by the state government to renovate the palace, with an order given to the Commissioner of Police in the state to evacuate Emir Bayero from the Nasarawa GRA mini palace where he resides.

Hours before removing Bayero from the mini palace, a Federal High Court in Kano had ruled in the suit to validate the Kano Emirate Council Law of 2024, but had nullified the State Governor, Abba Yusuf’s actions following the passing of the law.

According to Dederi the State Attorney in a press conference, he revealed that arrangements have been concluded by the government for a general reconstruction and renovation of the Nasarawa GRA, including the demolishing and reconstruction of the dilapidated wall fence with immediate effect.
