Industrial strike to rock Aviation workers

Air Transport workers under the coalition of aviation workers union, have made known to the public and airlines that from February 8, 2022 an industrial action will be on ground to protest against then poor welfare and Conditions of Service yet to be released.

The coalition includes members of National Union of Air Transport Employees NUATE, made it known that the action will affect local and international flight.

In a jointly signed statement, Air Transport service senior staff Association of Nigeria and Association of Nigeria Aviation professionals, said government has failed in releasing the CoS since 2013 and minimum adjustment 2019.

Secretaries General of the two union said it gives them no choice other than to strike after all efforts made to resolve the issue failed with Federal Aviation and aviation agencies, even with the one week ultimatum that expired January 31, 2022.

Ochemba Aba who is the General Secretary of NUATE, said the union were left with no option but to withdraw their services from Tuesday midnight, February 8, 2022.

The general public, airlines, ground handling, aviation security/logistics, inflight catering and others are hereby informed that aviation service will be unavailable at the given time unless issues are fully resolved.
