After disembarking from a chartered flight at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, former Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, has been arrested and handed over to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for interrogation.

The minister, who resigned from his position last year, has been on a watch list and has received several invitations from the ICPC over allegations of certificate forgery.

It was alleged that the former minister forged his University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) degree and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificates, which he submitted to President Bola Tinubu and the Nigerian Senate during his ministerial confirmation in 2023.

On June 13, after failing several times to show up at the Federal High Court in Abuja, an order was given to the ICPC to arrest Nnaji and also declare him wanted in national newspapers, social media platforms, and other media.
