The battle for leadership at the Lagos State House of Assembly is not yet over, as another turn has been launched against Mojisola Meranda today, Thursday, when the ousted Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, stormed the assembly complex in the company of security personnel.
After Obasa was removed on January 13 for gross misconduct and abuse of office, Mojisola Meranda, the Deputy, took his place. However, she has been under pressure to vacate the seat following alleged displeasure from President Bola Tinubu.
While the back-and-forth was ongoing at the State Assembly, on Thursday, Meranda’s security details were withdrawn, and those of Obasa were restored.
Obasa was said to have stormed the building in the company of policemen, civil defense, and other security personnel to gain access to the Speaker’s office, stating that he has resumed.
