With the hunger strike ongoing in various states in Nigeria, four persons have been reported shot, with others injured at Suleja, Niger State.

Protesters had blocked the Abuja-Kaduna highway, which caused heavy traffic, and trying to disperse the crowd, security operatives fired several gunshots.

One of the stray bullets landed on Yahaya Nda Isah, a resident of Hassan Dalatu Road, Suleja, killing him instantly.

It was gathered that Isah was on his bike passing in front of Suleja Police ‘A’ Division and was not even a protester when the stray bullet hit him on the chest and he died on the spot.

The spokesperson of Niger State Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed that police had to disperse the protesters as hoodlums wanted to set the Tafa Local Government Area on fire
