Hilda Bassey Confirmed GWR Holder on Longest Cooking By An Individual

Nigerian Chef Hilda Bassey popularly known as Hilda Baci, has been confirmed by the Guinness World Records (GWR) as the new record holder for longest cooking marathon by an individual.

According to a statement released by GWR on their official Twitter page part of the statement read,

“Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.”

“As with all ‘longest marathon’ records, the participant is permitted a five-minute rest break for every continuous hour of activity. These rest breaks can be accumulated if not taken. They were the only times Hilda could use the bathroom or sleep during the attempt.”

Recall that the 26-year-old chef began her cook-a-ton Thursday, May 11th through Monday 15th May 2023.

Although Hilda cooked for 100 hours preparing different dishes she was penalized by GWR because she mistakenly took a few extra minutes in one of her rest breaks.
