Headies Awards: Ayra Starr expresses displeasure with organizers

Nigerian star singer, Ayra Starr has expressed displeasure with the organizers of Headies Awards for their attitude towards female musicians.

The artist who won the Best Female Artist category of the 16th edition of Headies held on Sunday tackled the organizers ‘nonchalance’ towards female artists in a tweet on Monday stating that her female colleagues who were nominees as well as herself were diligent at their business and deserved much better.

“I will never be grateful for winning a category that wasn’t even deemed fit to be announced on stage! Best female artist na beans? We work hard, every single one of us! I’ve seen Tiwa record 4 hit songs in the same night, Tems breaths and lives for music, we didn’t deserve such nonchalance! Nigeria, you didn’t raise me to settle for less” Ayra Starr tweeted.
