A Rev. Fr. in Gambia, Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, has opened up about the controversial issues surrounding embattled Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Daniel Okanatotor Oghenerukevwe, who left the priesthood to chase the love of his life.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Fr. Ugwu revealed that the wedding of the suspended Fr. Oghenerukevwe was done publicly, as he had already made moves to submit his resignation prior to that time.
Earlier reports circulated on Sunday with a circular from the Catholic Diocese of Warri, Delta State, stating that Fr. Oghenerukevwe was suspended from priestly duties because of his secret wedding in the United States of America (USA).
Fr. Ugwu, therefore, urged the public to be mindful of the type of headlines they consume pertaining to the issue, as he (Fr. Oghenerukevwe) had made his intentions known but was not patient enough for the process.
Noting that when such intentions are made known, even as a priest, one can leave, as priesthood is of free will.
