Gunmen Kill Five While Enforcing Sit-at-home In Anambra

In trying to enforce the sit-at-home order, residents in Akwa, Anambra State have been forced into mourning by unknown gunmen who stormed Abatete, Abagana, and Ukpo towns, leaving five persons dead today, Monday.

At about 8:00/10:00 AM in Abatete town, the vigilantes were the targets of this attack, as three attached to the town’s President General were shot and killed, while the PG was rushed to a nearby clinic for medical attention.

In Abagana and Ukpo communities, a vigilante member and a motorcycle rider were shot dead, leaving panic in the hearts of many.

The spokesperson of Anambra Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, revealed that details of the incident are still sketchy, as operatives are currently at the scene to ascertain the damage caused.
