Gunmen Kill ASP, Inspector in Enugu

Two mobile police officers have been reported killed in Enugu State by gunmen with another who sustained bullet injuries.

Information gathered by the Sun indicated that along Udu-Ozalla Road on Wednesday at about 7:30 in the evening, the Operation Restore Peace Enugu team on patrol was attacked.

The officers who lost their lives are an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Danjuma Joseph and Inspector Abu Elamaje.

Sources said the officers were rushed to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, UNTH, in Ituku-Ozalla but were confirmed dead on arrival.

The bodies of the late officers have been deposited in the mortuary for post-mortem examination while the Inspector who sustained bullet wounds has been discharged.

As of the time of reporting, the Police are yet to speak on the incident.
