Post created on 12:23 pm

‎It was a tragic Saturday for the people of Abraka after a yet-to-be-identified pregnant woman was killed by a stray bullet from soldiers of Operation Delta Sweep during their chase of internet fraudsters, also known as yahoo boys.

‎The soldiers flagged down the suspected yahoo boys for a search, but they ignored the order and zoomed off. A hot chase ensued, with several gunshots fired that hit the pregnant woman, who was pronounced dead at the hospital.

‎Following the incident and the outcry from the Abraka community protesting against the recklessness of the soldiers, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, on Sunday, assured that justice would be served as he consoled the late pregnant woman’s family.

‎Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, on Sunday in Asaba, Governor Oborevwori urged security operatives to be more professional in carrying out their duties in order not to cause harm to the public.
