Gov. Oborevwori Visits Warri Stadium, Not Pleased with Contractors

The visit of Governor Sherrif Oborevwori to Warri Stadium on Tuesday was a mixed experience as he expressed dissatisfaction with the slow work pace of the construction company handling the project.

Emphasizing timing, Oborevwori noted that the agreement was for full completion by December, but as of April, the work is still not done. However, he commended the quality of the football pitch but rejected most of the other work as substandard.

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, who accompanied the Governor, also praised the pitch quality but stated that the stadium may not be ready to host matches until September, as the Nigeria national football team could be scheduled to play the first official match at the venue upon completion.
