Gov. Monday Okpebholo Freezes All State Accounts

Newly sworn-in Governor of Edo State, Governor Monday Okpebholo, has ordered the freezing of all state-owned bank accounts with immediate effect until further notice.

A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, revealed that all banks, heads of ministries, departments, and agencies have been warned to adhere strictly to the order.

Additionally, the governor ordered a reversal of the Ministry of Roads and Bridges to the Ministry of Works.

Governor Okpebholo stands his ground on the ministry name reversal, stating that no good roads or bridges were constructed by his predecessor; therefore, maintaining such a name is irrelevant.
