Fresh Strike Brewing In ASUU As Federal Government Fails To Meet Demands

It is wicked for the presidency and National Assembly to be allocating allowances and treasures for themselves, making demands that are one-sided to suit selfish needs instead of attending to the public and their yearning for a better system.
It was the outburst displayed by lectures in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State under the umbrella of the Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU, that Comrade Oyibo Eze, Chairman of ASUU-UNN, pointed an accusing finger at the Federal Government for not meeting the demands of 2009.
The ASUU chapter members in UNN, have threatened to go on a nationwide strike if their grievances are not met by the Federal Government.
On Thursday in a protest carried out by the Union on the school premises, the lectures with various placards displaying their displeasure with the government revealed that the political and diplomatic approach used by the body has not yielded any result because the government is hypocritical.
In Comrade Eze’s words “President Bola Tinubu made it clear during his campaign that he would end the ASUU strike by fulfilling all the demands of the Union, but immediately he assumed office, he never made efforts to match his words with action. We have sent requests several times but no response from the government.”
