Eight dead, others injured as gas plant explodes in Lagos

Best roof Gas plant Baruwa-Ipaja area of Alimosho local government area, Lagos exploded in the early hours of Thursday morning. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency confirmed this development.

Nosa Okunbor, LASEMA spokesman, in a statement said that though the cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained, four persons died while several others were injured.

“On arrival at the scene of incident it was observed that there was a gas explosion at the aforementioned location,”

“Further investigation at the scene revealed that a gas station belonging to Best Roof Cooking Gas exploded by burning buildings around. The cause of the explosion could not be ascertained at the moment.

The Lagos State Emergency Response unit in a tweet disclosed that the gas emission has been identified and curtailed.
