One Mr Hitler Nwala, a digital Forensic expert had told the Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC) in Abuja on Thursday how the Independent National Electoral Commission erased the results of the presidential election showing Obi’s Victory in the February 25 election.

Nwala was the 25th witness presented by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The witness testified before the panel of five, chaired by Judge Haruna Tsammani, claiming that the erased results were contained in the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) devices used to conduct the elections.

Atiku and his party had insisted that data from the BVAS devices used for accrediting voters and uploading polling station results would support their claims that the presidential election had been rigged in Tinubu’s favor.

Nwala told the court that he carried out a personal forensic analysis on the 110 BVAS deployed to conduct the presidential elections in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

According to Nwala when he requested the said results, INEC claimed to have deleted the information in the BVAS to use it again for the gubernatorial and state houses of assembly elections on March 18.

INEC lawyer Abubakar Mahmoud, SAN, however, objected to the witness report during cross-examination stressing that the 110 BVAS devices used in the election were insufficient to prove any irregularities on the part of the commission.

Mahmoud claimed that the sample size the witness relied on to compile his report was small, that a total of 3,263 BVAS devices were deployed during the presidential election and with just 3.5 per cent deployed to FCT cannot be used compared to all.
